The Shop UNINTERRUPTED Hosts HBCU Tour

Written by Bryce J. Tarrant

The 2023 homecoming season is upon us and the highly popular show, “The Shop”, created by LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Springhill Company will be taking their talents to Hampton University, North Carolina A&T and Tennessee State. Co-creator Paul Rivera will host tapings featuring special guests and explained why this idea was important. “We selected these three schools for various reason, including their impact and how they empower their students.

The Shop is known for having “barbershop-like” conversations and the popularity of the platform will continue to bring much needed awareness to the historic campuses around the country. “HBCU’s are increasingly becoming the first choice for some of the nation’s most sought-after talents. Both are cornerstones in cultivating and educating the next generation of Black and Brown thought leaders”, Rivera explained.

Brand activations and sponsors will also be integrated within the tour. On each campus, there will be a festival for students to apply for the AT&T Dream in Black Rising Future Makers Showcase, vehicle displays sponsored by Toyota and Taco Bell will also host a concert and present a $25,000 donation from the Taco Bell Foundation to Hampton’s music and arts program.

The tour will kick off this fall:

October 13th: Tennessee State

October 27th: Hampton University

November 2nd: North Carolina A&T
